以前、2022年に「環境との共生」について書きました。
その後、コストや製品保護や購入してくださった方が開封された時の気持ちなど、様々な要素を同時に考えた時に、どのような梱包状態が全てにとって一番理想的なのか、ずっと考えながら試行錯誤してきました。
2023年に菜箸立てのhazureを1人黙々とたくさん梱包して出荷させていただく中で、だいたいの方向性が定まりました。
現時点では、ほぼ全ての梱包を紙のみで行っています。
梱包資材としての紙やプラスチックバッグに、どのような環境負荷がかかっているのか、結局自分としてわからない、ということが判断を難しくさせているようにも思います。
梱包にプラスチックバッグを使わないということは、水濡れなどにも弱いことを意味しているため、少し不安になるときもあります。
todoroの製品が基本的に極めて水に強いということが、簡易な梱包を後押ししてくれている部分もあります。
土砂降りの雨の時には、たまらずビニール袋に包んでしまうこともあります。
結論これが正しいのかはわからないのですが、購入してくださった方にとってメリットが出るよう、包装には以下の点を留意しています。
・梱包資材自体を保管しておこうとまでは思わないデザイン
・廃棄への罪悪感がないよう廃棄の量が少なくて済むように
・廃棄の際に分別が要らないもしくは少ない
・廃棄するのにコストがかからない
todoroのコンセプトとして「小さい負荷で大きな価値」というものがあり、何もこれはtodoroだけが、そのメリットを享受するという意味ではなく、もっと大きな括りで捉えています。
例えば梱包資材を分別して廃棄する時間や、化粧箱を保管しておくスペースも、製品を受け取った方にとってのコストになると考えています。
結果として、今は下記の方針に落ち着いています。
・紙だけの包装
・シールよりも印刷を使用し点数の少ない包装
todoroとしてはガシガシ製品を使っていただき、大事に使っていても増えていく傷ごと製品を愛していただきたいです。
梱包ひとつ取っても、todoroのコンセプトとお客さんのご期待やご理解がひとつにまとまって、初めて成立していると考えています。

kushidangoに関しては重量があり、製品自体が高額なこともあるため、現時点ではエアーキャップなどプラスチック系の梱包資材を無くせない、と考えています。
自分も、いち消費者でもありますので、簡易な梱包や容易な廃棄というものを体験する中で「みんなにとっての楽さ」みたいなものを考えるようになっています。

Previously, I wrote about "coexistence with the environment" in 2022.
After that, I kept thinking about what kind of packaging would be the most ideal for everyone, considering various factors such as cost, product protection, and how the customer would feel when they opened the package. I did try and error time after time.
In 2023, I silently packed and shipped a lot of chopstick holders Hazure , and the general direction was decided.
At the moment, almost all packaging is done using paper only.
I personally don't know what kind of environmental impact paper and plastic bags used as packaging materials have, which makes it difficult to judge.
Not using plastic bags for packaging means that it is vulnerable to water and other problems, which can be a little worrying at times.
The fact that Todoro's products are basically extremely water resistant is part of what supports simple packaging.
When it's pouring rain, I sometimes end up wrapping it in a plastic bag.
As a result, I don't know if this is correct, but I keep the following points in mind when packaging so that it will be beneficial to those who purchase it.
- A design that does not even make you think about storing the packaging materials themselves.
- Reduce the amount of waste so you don't feel guilty about disposing of it
- No or little separation required during disposal
- No cost to dispose of
Todoro's concept is "Big value with small load'', and this does not mean that only Todoro will enjoy the benefits, but we look at it from a broader perspective.
For example, we believe that the time it takes to separate and dispose of packaging materials and the space to store cosmetic boxes are costs for the recipient of the product.
As a result, we have now settled on the following policy.
- Paper-only packaging
- Packaging with fewer items using printing rather than stickers
At Todoro, we want you to use hard our products and love them, with all the scratches that will appear even if you use them carefully.
Even when it comes to packaging, we believe that todoro's concept and our customers' expectations and understanding are all integrated into one.

As Kushidango is heavy and the product itself is expensive, we believe that we cannot eliminate plastic packaging materials such as air caps at this time.
As a consumer myself, I have come to think about things like "ease for everyone'' as I experience simple packaging and easy disposal.
