モノを作る、買う、使う、という行為は少なからず環境に影響を与えます。
自分の気に入ったものを長く使うことは環境との共生に繋がりますし、作り手としては頑丈に作ることが求められます。
安価なものが悪いわけではなく、使わないものを買ったり、まだ使えるものを捨てたりすることが、環境に影響を与えていると思います。
todoroの商品はガンガン使い倒して頂きたい、と思っています。
靴べらのsunokoも、薄いので使っているうちに、だんだんヨレヨレになっていきますが、ステンレス製のためとても頑丈で、欠けたりちぎれたりすることはありません。
どんなものでも、手に入れた時はピカピカで新品独特の良さがあります。
ただ、使っている間にどんどん傷がつきます。
それは自分と一緒に歩んだ時間の証です。
大事に使っていて増えていく傷は「味」となって残ります。
モノのそばには常に思い出があるはずです。
傷取りのために再度磨く、というのも、れっきとした「モノを大切にする行為」の1つであり、それも一興。
傷は傷のまま、あばたをあばたごと愛する、それも一興です。
所有者の信条や方針に従ってモノは大切にして頂きたいなと、いち「ものづくり」に携わる者として思います。
todoroでは、梱包はできるだけ簡素にして、設計費や製作費や試作費など、商品自体の価値を高める費用に使わせて頂きたい、と考えています。
コストの削減もありますし、環境との共生もあります。
自分自身の体験として、空き箱の処理に困った、という体験もあります。
いまだにゲームボーイの初代ポケモンの空き箱が大事に取ってあります。
捨てるに捨てられず、困ります。
場所を取る、ということはコストに繋がります。
思い出とコストは天秤にかけられないから困るのです。
無地の段ボールであれば捨てやすいです。
そこで、捨てやすい梱包にするため、安価なブラスチックバッグとエアキャップで梱包しています。
この梱包に対しても、常に考え続けないといけないと思っています。
またtodoroでは、B2B(ビジネス対ビジネス取引)の考え方が強く入っています。
B2Bにおいては、簡易梱包が基本です。
お客様によっては、グリーン調達といって環境負荷の低い調達活動をサプライチェーンに求めることを、取引基本契約書や仕様書に謳われている場合もあります。
幸いtodoroの商品は基本的にほぼ金属ですので、極めて頑丈です。
基本的に外装よりも頑丈です。
ですので、品質が守れる最小限の梱包で出荷致します。
いわゆるバルク品も一般的になってきました。
バルク品とは本来は卸売で販売店に販売されるものが個人向けに売られている状態のことです。
このあたりはAmazonが常識を大きく変えていきました。
価格に見合った価値が提供されていなければ問題ですが、段ボールに傷がある、パッケージが少し凹んでいる、指定時間通りに来なかった、という点は日本では特に強く非難されることがあります。
消費者によって作られた過剰な常識で、国レベルの成長を止めていないか、地球レベルでの負担を増やしていないか、という点も各個人が考える時代になったのではないか、と考えています。
いまはtodoroでは化粧箱の用意が無いのですが、用意ができた際にも、オプションのような形で、箱だけで商品になるような立派なものを欲しい人にだけ製作して渡るようにしようと思っています。
todoroは有名ブランドではありませんので、「高価な化粧箱は欲しくないのに、その費用を負担させられる」ということがないようにしたい、と考えています。
todoroの商品を製作しているメーカーは、宇宙関係の製品や発電所向けの部品など、誰もが知っている大手メーカーに部品を供給する、とても高い品質管理をクリアしたメーカー達です。
良いものを長く使っていると、地球とも仲良くやっていけると思います。
